Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By installing, accessing, or using HomeMapper ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms apply alongside Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which governs your license to install and run the App.

2. The App

HomeMapper is a smart home network inventory application for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, developed by Vault Hunters NM LLC ("we," "our," "us"), a New Mexico limited liability company. The App helps you discover and view devices on your home network across HomeKit, Matter, Thread, Home Assistant, and standard IP protocols.

3. License

Your right to install and run the App is granted under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms supplement Apple's EULA. In the event of a conflict, Apple's EULA controls the license to use the App; these Terms control everything else (including warranties, liability, and dispute resolution) to the extent permitted by law.

4. In-App Purchases

HomeMapper may offer optional in-app purchases. All purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's payment terms. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies; we do not process refunds directly. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID and are non-transferable.

5. Permitted Use

The App is licensed for your personal, non-commercial use, or for use on networks you own or are authorized to administer. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits;
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App;
• Use the App to interfere with, attack, or gain unauthorized access to any network, device, or service; or
• Use the App in violation of any applicable law.

6. Network Discovery and Authorization

HomeMapper performs local-network discovery, including HomeKit queries, Matter and Thread observation, mDNS/Bonjour browsing, SSDP/UPnP probes, and subnet ping sweeps, to identify devices on the network you are connected to. You are responsible for ensuring you have authority to scan the network you are using. Do not run the App on networks you are not authorized to inspect.

7. Accuracy; No Warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that device classifications, identifications, network topology, or any other information shown by the App is complete, accurate, or current. Discovery results depend on third-party protocols, vendor implementations, and network conditions outside our control. Do not rely on the App for security-critical, life-safety, or compliance decisions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

8. Third-Party Services and Trademarks

The App interoperates with third-party platforms including Apple HomeKit, Matter, Thread, Zigbee, Z-Wave, and Home Assistant. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc., the Connectivity Standards Alliance, the Thread Group, the Open Home Foundation, Silicon Laboratories Inc., or any other trademark holder. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Use of third-party services through the App is subject to those services' own terms and privacy practices.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, its source code, design, branding, screenshots, marketing copy, and all related materials are owned by Vault Hunters NM LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. No rights are granted to you except as expressly stated in these Terms or Apple's EULA.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Vault Hunters NM LLC, its members, officers, or contractors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from or related to your use of the App. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from or related to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vault Hunters NM LLC and its members, officers, and contractors from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the App, your unauthorized scanning of any network, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the App. Apple or we may terminate the license at any time in accordance with Apple's EULA. You may terminate at any time by deleting the App. Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

13. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the App will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Santa Fe County, New Mexico, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking relief in small-claims court for qualifying disputes.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" above and post the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the App after the Effective Date constitutes acceptance. If a change is material, we will make a reasonable effort to highlight it in app release notes.

15. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Apple's EULA, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
